Company Party 2006

So this weekend we went to my company picnic at the Colorado Rockies game. It was pretty fun for Josh and me. We got free food and free tickets!

Unfortunately, our seats weren't too good. The tickets were for 'The Rock Pile' which as you can see - aren't so good if you really want to watch the game. It's the section directly across the field. The tickets are only $4. They used to be only $1, but all the downtown hobos used to scratch up enough money to sit in the bleachers for a couple hours, bumming money and eating all the leftovers. At first I thought, "What a great idea! So many wasteful people and so many hungry hobos!" But apparently they were also drinking any leftover beers or somehow getting $6 to buy beer, and were causing problems. SO - $4 for such awesome seats isn't half bad.

But we had fun even though it started raining. it was only for about 20 min. - and that gave me ample time to go get another beer - along with the other 100 people who thought it was a good idea.

I thought we were going to be rained out, but lucky for us, more beer and popcorn were a callin'! Of course after the game, many of us met up over at another bar for more drinks and shots. Needless to say, i was really hung over the next day.

So what did we do?
Josh set up our new pool!

I think if it hadn't have been only 80 degrees out, we would've had a great time. But alas! The water was way too cold!

Josh didn't think so. He got right in!
I just watched. i also supervised the grilling of hamburgers before we went to go see Prairie Home Companion. Speaking of which, only see that movie if you enjoy the radio show.

Trust me.

I also bought a new digital camera and have found out that i can upload photos on the home computer, just not my work computer. i haven't figured out why, though. Josh thinks i should try another browser. But I don't know why Explorer would freak out after 2 years of uploading photos. I will try Netscape tomorrow at work.

` Man, internet browsers can be a bitch. For me, I was able to go anywhere with finished, resized photos loaded onto my CDC and upload them on any computer with Firefox or IE.
` That's just retarded.

` Crazy time at the ballpark, it would appear. BTW, I think I could pinch Josh's face.

` Also... you guys, it may be because it's after two in the morning, but you've gotta check out my Mad Science blog.... the thing about dodgeball... keep reading until you split a side. And then continue reading until you die of also splitting your other side, your front and your back.
` Gullible teenagers.... I almost peed myself. Just try to read it out loud - I could barely manage I was laughing so hard.

Too bad the game got rained out. When we went and saw the Royals play in Anaheim, we had seats with a very similar view.

Cas, it's not likely that your browser has anything to do with your non-uploading situation. If it's absolutely true that you can't upload pictures at work, that points to the security of your corporate network rather than your web browser. If that's true, it's also likely that you don't have administrative permissions on your local machine - which means you can't install new softwares.

Good luck.

` Hmm, yeah, that makes sense - some business computers do not allow any shenanigans!

those Josh pics are awesome... like "in his native habitat" nature photos.

Thanks for the movie advice. Never been an Altman fan, but my folks were trying hard to convince me how great this is.

My next big screen outing will be Superman Returns!

I had never heard of "The Prairie Home Companion" but saw the movie. I absolutely loved it. It reminded me of a Christopher Guest movie. I thought the parts were all well played expect for Lindsey Lohan. For some reason, the little commercial announcements between songs really cracked me up.

Wait a minute here... Lindsay Lohan's in "Prairie Home Companion?" I thought "Prairie Home Companion" was that Australian cowboy movie with Guy Pearce. What the devil's the name of that movie then?

That is THE PROPOSITION! which is written by NICK CAVE, dude. geesh. I really want to see that one.
Sorry for the yelling, Nick Cave always makes me yell in excitement.

No problemo. I thought Nick Cave was a musician?

Guy Pearce is so HAWTTT!!!!!

he is hotter in 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'...but that may just be the old faghag in me.

Blackpetunia said...

Yeah, but Nick is not a fag. and he is hot, or at least I thought so until I saw a recent video, he is not aging so well these days.
Maybe it was the angle, maybe it was the light.
He is a musician, Paul, but he's also a writer.

uh, oh, you guys were talking about guy pearce, sorry, stuck on Nick Cave still...

Ted said...

She was talking about Guy, not Nick.

Guy isn't gay either.

Nor am I, but I find myself compelled to trace my finger over the contour of his abdomen, as it was in "Pracilla".

Not his toes, though.

This and That said...

yeah...you're gay!

It's good that you had fun at the game because I usually find outings with co-workers to be worse than actually working.

Be careful about diving in the pool . . .
