And the WINNER IS:

I leave the 24th of September! I will be doing crop extension which is to motivate Paraguayan small scale farmers to optimize their use of available human, material, and natural resources in order to raise their standard of living and to improve food security.

That's what the invitation says. Sounds like I'm going to be a farmer in South America and learn to speak the native language of Guarani!

Check it out!

That's awesome! Maybe Tom and I can elope there and you can still be our minister of ceremonies.
I think paraguay is fun to say, and looks beautiful!

Erm, except I don't think I'd like this:

"Summers are long, with temperatures that reach 105 degrees on peak days; winters are mild and short, albeit in the months of July and August, some days the temperature can dip down to 0 degrees centigrade."

hey here is a little known fact....you can get married numerous times in this country. my family is from south america and my uncles first wife who he has been estranged from for over 22 years won't grant him an anullment...divorce is not recognized in many latin american countries.. and she would lose money if she said yes to an anullment, so he and his female partner of over 18 years, went to paraguay to get 'married' 15 years ago. go figure.

bet you are happy to know where you are heading!! congrats.

Congratulations, Cassie, you’ll be great!

Cassie Cassava - you can make a new national dish with your own name! Maybe you can introduce a punk polka too. Congratulations!

Sounds very cool & you should travel around S. America if possible as I've heard good things about several other countries down that way.

` Wow! Well, at least it isn't hot down there right now!
` I hope you're still able to tell us what you're doing while you're down there!
` Glad there are people in the world, like you, Cassie, who are hell-bent on changing the world. Or at least Paraguay.

` * That's got to be weird, summer in December and winter in July. Reminds me of an Australian version of Jingle Bells where they have coolers and flip-flops and stuff.
` Well, hope you get some decent weather at least. In any case, you won't be complaining of a cold winter up here!
